“Long COVID Dreams” memorial installed in New York City

Photo of a metal fence in front of trees and bushes, with an art installation hanging on it. The installation has a handpainted blue banner across the top with white text that says: "LONG COVID DREAMS." Below this is artwork representing a bed - there are two white pillows and a colorful patchwork quilt made of small artworks. Surrounding the quilt are handpainted moons and stars.

“Long COVID Dreams,” our community memorial, is now installed at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, along with memorials from 40+ other community groups, as part of the annual Naming the Lost project.

“Long COVID Dreams” was created by community artists Jenna Bitar and Luca Stancato, with the support of Long COVID Justice, and contributions from people living with Long COVID in New York City. Our memorial asks the question, What tethers you to hope?

Memorials are on view through June 8, and the activation ceremony and ritual will take place May 8 and will be livestreamed at @namingthelostmemorials.

You can also view a video of our installation on our Naming the Lost page.
